A Great Weekend
I had a truly great weekend. It started off Friday night with a pizza from the Thordike Creamery. It was excellent. It was done when they said it would be done too. Perhaps they should give Marinos some lessons. It was also priced about the same as Marinaros but bigger. Some might not like the fact that they only have one kind of pizza which is cheese but they are doing a style of pizza which is thin crust New York style. I am a cheese fan so it is cool with me. I also checked out my friend Melody's new wine bar called "In Good Company". I was very impressed with it. She had an architect design the interior which explains why it is so nice. It shows. Design is like any other skill. Just because someone knows how to play computer solitaire doesn't mean they can program a server. Design is a skill that must be learned. The results are usually very evident.

Saturday I had to work and it wasn't crazy busy which made it nice. I also worked with Brother Bill and I don't get a chance to work with him much anymore so that was nice. We then went to Augusta to get some new tires on his truck. I will let him tell the tire story if he wants. Then on the way back we stopped at the gun store and I got a chance to look at the Baikal .22LR pistol I have been looking at. I think I am going to pass on it though. If it is meant to be then it will be there in a few months when I am ready for it. I am not going to force it. I have a lot of other uses for the money and it is also a bit more expensive than I recalled which puts it even more out of reach. I would love to have it but I can do without it. More on that in a moment. So we left the gun store and went to the range to finish the afternoon with some shooting. We got there and the guy was grooming the range. So we had some cigars and waited about 20 mins and he was done. So then we started to shoot and then it started to rain. We figured it wouldn't last long but we were wrong. It lasted for over an hour and it downpoured. Our targets got soaked. We then decided to shoot some skeet. I got my first chance to try a shotgun. I really loved it. Now I want one. So that is why I can leave the Baikal for now. I want a shotgun next. Not to mention the shotgun I have my eye on is $100 less than the used (for a month) Baikal. I think I am going to save up for the shotgun. On the way home it rained very hard and we were talking about how we were going to get my stuff in the house without getting soaked. Bill jokingly said "oh Lord please let it not be raining when we get to Jim's". I think God was listening. By the time we got to Rockland which was only about 10 mins away the rain was not only gone but the ground was totally dry. Wow. I think I want Bill to pray for me. How about a wife Bill? That night I did homework and some cleaning. When I sat down to finish my homework I couldn't get online on any computer. I figured the net must be down. I cycled all my gear and I called my provider and left them a message I was down. I figured I better run to the office and finish it up there on my work computer. Thank goodness for that. I would never have gotten it done if I couldn't get in the car and drive down there. It only took me an hour or so. Thanks also to Jason for letting me do that. Many employers would never be that generous. I got it done and was home in time to watch some TV before bed.

Sunday I got up and got a wonderful message from Ken Price. I then decided to tackle some yard work. I did the hedges and mowed the lawn and washed my car. I wanted to so some more waxing and do the interior of my car but I was too pooped. Then I used some subway cards to get a free subway sandwich and I have just been relaxing this weekend. I got a good workout today and this weekend too. I also noticed this morning I had lost some weight. That also brightened my day. A great weekend indeed and I especially had a great time with Bill who is a wonderful friend and brother.
